What Is a Bulging Disc?
Disease description:
Grandpa appears to have a mild case of intervertebral disc bulging, but we’re not sure what this condition entails. What is intervertebral disc bulging?
Intervertebral disc bulging primarily refers to the outward protrusion of intervertebral disc tissue. It may result from habitual poor lumbar posture or from severe trauma to the lumbar tissues. Common symptoms include pain, paresthesia (abnormal sensations), and weakness of the lumbar musculature. If left untreated, it may progress to neuralgia, adversely affecting overall health.
