Disease description:
My mother-in-law has a bulging intervertebral disc at the L4–L5 level, accompanied by compression of the dural sac. How should this be treated?
Patients with L4–L5 intervertebral disc bulging and compression of the dural sac may be treated from the following aspects:
1. If symptoms are relatively mild, traction therapy may be employed; additionally, medications such as celecoxib tablets may be used under a physician’s guidance to alleviate symptoms.
2. If symptoms are relatively severe, endoscopic nucleotomy may be performed for treatment.
