Glaucoma patients may experience photophobia (light sensitivity). Other symptoms include blurred vision, decreased visual acuity, visual field defects, ocular pain and pressure, nausea, and vomiting. During acute glaucoma attacks—when intraocular pressure rises, corneal edema develops, and the pupil dilates—patients commonly develop photophobia. Under these conditions, bright light striking the eye causes pronounced glare, resulting in significant discomfort.
