What should I do about split urine stream?
Disease description:
Urination is always split into two or more streams, and I suspect something might be wrong. What should I do about split urine flow?
What should be done about urinary stream splitting? It depends on the patient’s specific condition. If it occurs only occasionally, it typically has no significant impact on health and generally requires no special treatment. However, persistent urinary stream splitting may be associated with urethral obstruction caused by conditions such as urethral stricture or urethral stones, necessitating antibiotic therapy to treat infection. A long foreskin is another possible cause; patients can self-assess whether the foreskin is excessively long. If so, it is recommended to retract the foreskin during urination, which can effectively prevent this issue.
