How long does it take for vision to recover from viral keratitis?
Disease description:
I am already undergoing treatment—I have viral keratitis, and my vision has already been affected. How long does it typically take for vision to recover from viral keratitis?
Vision recovery from viral keratitis typically takes about one week. This condition results from a viral infection and usually resolves spontaneously within approximately one week. However, if viral keratitis is not treated promptly, it may not only recur repeatedly but also lead to disease relapse. If the lesion extends deeply into the corneal stroma, healing may take several months; in severe cases, scarring may cover the pupillary area, resulting in permanent visual impairment.
