Atorvastatin can be used in patients with pancreatitis. However, if the pancreatitis is in the acute phase, this medication should be avoided, and the patient’s condition must be closely monitored—often requiring fasting. Atorvastatin may be administered safely in cases of chronic pancreatitis or after full recovery from pancreatitis. This drug primarily functions as an anti-atherosclerotic lipid-lowering agent; thus, it may be prescribed when clinically indicated, provided liver function is regularly monitored. After recovery from pancreatitis, patients should avoid spicy, irritating, raw, cold, and fried foods—items that are difficult to digest—and instead consume smaller, more frequent meals. Regular moderate exercise is recommended, while overeating, alcohol consumption, smoking, strong tea, and coffee should all be avoided.
