Patients with gastroptosis should not take Jianpi Wan (Spleen-Strengthening Pills) long-term. This medication is intended for improving digestion and protecting the spleen and stomach, but it is ineffective for gastroptosis and may even cause harm. If patients frequently experience indigestion or abdominal distension, medications such as domperidone or metoclopramide may be prescribed for treatment. Concurrently, dietary adjustments are recommended: gradually reduce portion sizes per meal while increasing meal frequency, and prioritize vegetables. Avoid strong alcoholic beverages, strong tea, coffee, chili peppers, mustard, and other irritants to prevent exacerbation of symptoms such as acid reflux and heartburn.
