When inflammation occurs in the pancreas, referred pain may develop, leading to left shoulder pain. Abdominal pain is the most common symptom and typically appears suddenly after eating or drinking. The pain is often severe and difficult to tolerate. It can be alleviated with oral medications that suppress pancreatic secretion and treat infection. Additionally, avoid overeating, as excessive food intake may impede recovery from pancreatitis.
