Gastric bleeding typically does not cause pain because blood is alkaline and can neutralize gastric acid. Abdominal pain is not the primary symptom of massive gastric bleeding. Severe gastric bleeding may lead to shock and even death, necessitating immediate hospitalization. Common underlying conditions include bleeding gastric ulcers. Avoid strenuous physical activity to prevent worsening of the condition. Once the patient’s condition has stabilized, an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscopy) is required for definitive diagnosis and evaluation.
