How is chronic gastritis classified?
Disease description:
During a recent hospital visit, I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis. I’ve heard that gastritis has various subtypes—how is chronic gastritis classified?
Chronic gastritis is classified based on the severity of the condition and the anatomical location of the lesions. According to severity, gastritis is categorized as mild, moderate, or severe. Based on the anatomical site of inflammation, it may be classified as corpus gastritis, antral gastritis, fundal gastritis, and others. Additionally, gastritis can be divided into two main types: atrophic gastritis and non-atrophic gastritis.
