It is not recommended to use Bactroban (mupirocin ointment) for perianal eczema in infants, as their skin is particularly delicate. Eczema is an allergic skin condition that typically presents with localized pruritus and other clinical symptoms. Medication selection must be appropriate and gentle to minimize skin irritation. Since Bactroban has a certain degree of irritancy, it may exacerbate skin irritation; therefore, its use is not advised.
