When does rheumatoid arthritis of the knee become degenerative?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve experienced knee pain and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. When does rheumatoid arthritis of the knee lead to joint deformity?
It is impossible to determine the exact time at which joint deformity develops in rheumatoid arthritis, as it varies significantly depending on both individual factors and treatment approaches. With scientifically sound and systematic treatment during the course of rheumatoid arthritis, the onset of joint deformity can be appropriately delayed. Conversely, inappropriate treatment may lead to significant impairment of joint function within 3–5 years, and severe cases may even progress to joint deformity.
