Disease description:

Recently, my friend has been experiencing persistent pain in the lower back and lumbar region. After undergoing a comprehensive medical examination at the hospital, the doctor diagnosed the pain as renal colic caused by a ureteral stone. Can a ureteral stone indeed cause renal colic?

Ureteral calculi may cause renal colic. They typically result from renal calculi descending into the ureter. During an acute episode, patients may experience renal colic, hematuria, and anuria, along with associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, pallor, cold sweats, fever, tachypnea, and elevated blood pressure.
