What is a right renal hamartoma?
Disease description:
One of my colleagues was diagnosed by the hospital with an angiomyolipoma in the right kidney. He feels the condition is very serious—what exactly is a right renal angiomyolipoma?
Right renal angiomyolipoma primarily arises from benign, abnormal proliferation of blood vessels, smooth muscle, and fat tissue in the kidney, most commonly due to genetic factors. Patients typically present with abnormal symptoms such as hemoptysis, chest tightness, and cough. If left untreated, disease progression may lead to complications including pulmonary abscess and respiratory distress.
