How long does treatment for chronic nonbacterial prostatitis last?
Disease description:
I previously experienced an acute episode of prostatitis that was not treated promptly, leading to recurrent symptoms. I only recently learned that the condition has progressed to chronic prostatitis—and specifically, nonbacterial chronic prostatitis. I would like to know how long treatment for chronic nonbacterial prostatitis typically lasts.
Chronic nonbacterial prostatitis requires a prolonged treatment course, typically lasting more than three months. Nonbacterial chronic prostatitis refers to prostate inflammation not caused by bacterial infection and commonly manifests with urinary discomfort and other symptoms. In most cases, antibiotic therapy is unnecessary; instead, an integrated approach combining traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may be adopted. TCM formulations specifically indicated for prostatitis—such as Qianlie Shutong Capsules and Qianlie Jiedu Capsules—may be used.
