What causes a dry throat, nausea, and dry heaving?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve constantly had a dry throat and feel nauseous—could this be a sign of illness? What causes a dry throat accompanied by nausea and dry heaving?
A dry, nauseous throat accompanied by dry heaves may result from laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) or digestive dysfunction. Prolonged consumption of spicy foods, gastrointestinal dysregulation, and gastroesophageal reflux can all contribute to the development of reflux-induced laryngitis. In addition to symptoms such as throat dryness, itching, nausea, and vomiting, patients may also experience chest or back pain. Patients should maintain a light, non-irritating diet—avoiding spicy and stimulating foods—and engage in regular physical activity.
