Caused by pulp polyps. Such proliferative lesions typically occur in permanent teeth with deep carious cavities, where the cavity floor communicates with the pulp chamber. The pulp chamber perforation is relatively large, yet the gingiva remains highly vital and resistant to infection, leading to gingival proliferation. The proliferating gingival tissue extends through the pulp chamber opening into the carious cavity and becomes visible in the oral cavity. This gingival tissue is commonly composed of blood vessels and fibroblasts, making it prone to bleeding upon palpation or suction.
