Gingival bleeding is primarily a periodontal issue. Inadequate toothbrushing or failure to undergo regular full-mouth cleanings can lead to dental plaque accumulation, which subsequently causes calculus (tartar) formation. Dental plaque is the primary cause of periodontal disease; it exerts pressure on the gums, resulting in redness, swelling, and bleeding. If left untreated, the condition may progressively worsen, leading to inflammation, gingival recession, and even tooth mobility. Therefore, upon noticing gingival bleeding, prompt medical consultation and basic periodontal therapy are essential.
