How long does a leg muscle strain typically take to heal?
Disease description:
My husband strained his leg muscle while playing soccer due to improper force application. How long does it typically take for a leg muscle strain to heal?
A pulled leg tendon requires immobilization with a cast; recovery typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. The muscles and fascia of the leg are extremely robust, and once torn—even with surgical intervention—recovery requires a longer period. During treatment, long-distance walking and strenuous physical activity should be avoided as much as possible; immobilization is recommended, especially during the initial phase of treatment.
