I have a fever today—could it be related to the pharyngitis I’ve had recently? Can pharyngitis cause fever?

Pharyngitis can cause fever. In acute pharyngitis, onset is rapid and systemic inflammatory infection is relatively severe, leading to symptoms such as throat discomfort, cough, and a burning sensation in the throat, as well as systemic manifestations including fever, myalgia, and decreased appetite. In contrast, patients with chronic pharyngitis typically do not exhibit systemic symptoms such as fever. If fever is caused by pharyngitis, appropriate antipyretic and analgesic medications may be used.
