Is Sichuan Fritillary Bulb effective for pharyngitis?
Disease description:
Pharyngitis has recurred, causing throat discomfort. I have Fritillaria (Chuan Bei) at home—can it help with pharyngitis?
It is generally beneficial and has certain therapeutic effects. However, if the patient’s condition is acute and accompanied by infection, relying solely on traditional Chinese patent medicines—such as Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus (Chuan Bei)—will not effectively treat the disease. In such cases, patients should actively receive anti-inflammatory treatment with antibiotics like cephalosporins. Alternatively, traditional Chinese herbal remedies that clear heat and dispel fire may be used for regulation. Additionally, patients should follow a light diet, drink plenty of water, avoid smoking, refrain from exposure to cold stimuli, and engage in appropriate physical exercise to enhance their immune function.
