I developed pharyngitis this week and also had a fever—it’s extremely uncomfortable. When will I recover? How long does it typically take for the fever caused by pharyngitis to resolve?

Pharyngitis-induced fever typically resolves within about seven days. Acute pharyngitis is an acute inflammation of the pharynx and, in severe cases, may present with fever. If inadequately controlled, it can lead to high fever. When the infecting bacteria or viruses are highly virulent and anti-inflammatory treatment is delayed or insufficient, the fever may persist for an extended period. In cases of uncomplicated viral infection alone, recovery usually occurs within seven days. If bacterial infection is also present, appropriate treatment generally leads to resolution within seven days.
