Anorgasmia (failure to ejaculate during intercourse) is typically caused by conditions such as anejaculation or retrograde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation refers to a condition in which the male has normal libido and normal penile erection, successfully completes sexual intercourse, experiences both the ejaculatory act and orgasmic sensation, yet semen does not exit via the urethral meatus; instead, a large number of sperm can be detected in the urine following intercourse. Anejaculation may occur when functional impairment at a certain stage results in insufficient sexual stimulation to trigger the ejaculatory reflex.
