What tests should be performed for eosinophilic cystitis?
Disease description:
A few days ago, I was accidentally diagnosed with eosinophilic cystitis during a hospital visit. The doctor then recommended a series of tests, but I feel some of them might be unnecessary. Could you please advise which tests are essential for eosinophilic cystitis?
Eosinophilic cystitis generally shows eosinophilia in routine blood tests, while urinalysis may reveal proteinuria, hematuria, or pyuria. Excretory urography may show ureteral dilation, hydronephrosis, and reflux. Cystoscopy reveals bladder mucosal edema and ulceration, sometimes accompanied by broad-based polyps.
