Can pregnancy be detected after 34 days of missed period?
Disease description:
I've missed my period for 34 days and suspect I might be pregnant. I want to buy a pregnancy test strip to check, but I'm not sure if it will show accurate results. May I ask whether pregnancy can be detected after missing a period for 34 days?
Pregnancy can generally be detected 34 days after the last menstrual period. After conception, a woman's levels of progesterone and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) rise. At this point, women can use a home pregnancy test or have a blood test at a reputable hospital to measure hCG levels and determine whether they are pregnant. Generally, blood tests are more accurate and can detect pregnancy when menstruation is regular. However, if a woman normally has irregular menstrual cycles, pregnancy may not necessarily be detectable after 34 days of missed periods.
