Ureaplasma urealyticum infection is often accompanied by lower back and abdominal pain, abnormal genital discharge, as well as urethral pruritus, foul odor, and erythema or swelling. Upon diagnosis of U. urealyticum infection, sexual intercourse must be avoided. Local hygiene should be maintained strictly; during treatment, personal items (e.g., towels, undergarments) must be used exclusively by the patient. Clothing should be disinfected regularly, and consumption of spicy or irritating foods should be avoided.
