How to treat bronchitis in children
Disease description:
The child has bronchitis, with thick nasal discharge that is yellowish-green in color. How should pediatric bronchitis be treated?
Pediatric bronchitis can be treated in the hospital. If caused by a viral infection, antiviral therapy is administered; if due to bacterial infection, antibiotic treatment is given; and if caused by mycoplasma infection, macrolide antibiotics are used. Symptomatic treatment mainly includes antipyretics for fever relief, along with adequate nutritional support and hydration. Since coughing in bronchitis tends to be severe, appropriate cough suppressants and expectorants should be provided. A comfortable home environment with suitable temperature and humidity should be maintained to facilitate recovery.
