Why are children prone to "heatiness"?
Disease description:
My child is 6 years old and tends to "get overheated" easily, with very poor constitution. I would like to know why children are prone to getting overheated?
Children often experience "heatiness" because of high environmental temperatures and low humidity. Parents, fearing that their children might feel cold, dress them in too many or overly thick layers, causing body heat to accumulate and leading to symptoms of heatiness. A preference for meat and dislike of vegetables, combined with parents' well-meaning provision of high-protein, high-fat foods, can overwhelm the child's still underdeveloped and weak digestive system, resulting in food stagnation and internal heat.
