The cause of dull pain under the right rib cage may involve anatomical structures beneath the ribs, including the liver, gallbladder, and gastrointestinal system. Conditions such as gastritis, gallbladder diseases, cholecystitis, gallstones, liver disorders, space-occupying liver lesions, liver injury, and vascular diseases can all lead to subcostal dull pain. Additionally, pathologies of the ribs themselves may also cause such discomfort. The most common cause is costochondritis. In clinical practice, patients with abdominal or rib pain often assume an internal organ problem, but the actual cause may be costochondritis, a mass, or issues involving the costal cartilage fascia.
