Dr. Xu Gang
Chronic rhinitis can be cured. Most cases of chronic rhinitis develop from acute rhinitis and tend to be persistent and prone to recurrence. However, following a doctor's advice and undergoing standardized treatment can lead to a cure. Simple chronic rhinitis is mainly treated with local medications; patients should carefully follow medical instructions to use agents such as furamist (a compound of furacilin and ephedrine) or oxymetazoline to relieve local symptoms. Chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, on the other hand, is primarily treated surgically, with common procedures including partial turbinectomy of the inferior turbinate.
