Yesterday, during my medical examination, I received the test result indicating “Rh blood type positive.” What does this mean? How is it different from other blood types? Could you please explain this to me?

Hello, Being Rh-positive is a normal blood type. The Rh blood group system has two possible phenotypes: Rh-positive and Rh-negative. Both are entirely normal—simply representing two naturally occurring variants of the Rh blood group. The Rh blood group system is one of the most clinically significant blood group systems, especially in transfusion medicine and obstetrics. Individuals with Rh-negative blood can safely receive only Rh-negative blood; transfusion of Rh-positive blood may trigger a severe hemolytic reaction, potentially leading to serious complications. We hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
