Disease description:

Recently, I've suddenly noticed that I often have difficulty with bowel movements, and sometimes feel that my stool isn't completely expelled. A friend mentioned it might be constipation. I'm wondering, is it okay to frequently use enema (glycerin) suppositories for constipation?

Frequent use of medications such as glycerin suppositories after constipation is not particularly beneficial for overall health. Glycerin suppositories help soften stool in the intestines and relieve difficulties in defecation caused by symptoms like dry bowel movements during constipation episodes. However, frequent use of such medications may lead to dependency, potentially slowing intestinal motility and worsening discomfort associated with constipation.
