One-sided leg muscle soreness is generally caused by overexertion, lumbar disc herniation, or similar reasons. If a patient engages in excessive physical activity, it may lead to overexertion and result in one-sided leg muscle pain. This is a normal phenomenon and usually does not require treatment; the patient simply needs to rest more. One-sided leg muscle soreness may also be due to lumbar disc herniation, which can cause radiating pain in the leg. The local pain may worsen when the patient lifts the leg or walks for prolonged periods.
