A few days ago, my foot was hit by something. Today I noticed a slight bump on the top of my foot. What could cause a bony protrusion on the dorsum of the foot?

Patients often develop this condition due to overexertion, abnormal growth, or congenital factors. Foot bone protrusions may even be related to unhealed calluses after a fracture. Patients should promptly visit an orthopedic department for an X-ray examination. Severe cases can be treated surgically. After surgery, adequate rest is necessary, along with elevation of the limbs to prevent swelling, which could impair recovery.
