After sexual intercourse, abdominal pain in women may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease or ovarian cyst rupture. If a patient experiences the above symptoms after intercourse, she should promptly visit the obstetrics and gynecology department at a hospital for evaluation. If diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease, antibiotic therapy along with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medications is required. However, if the examination indicates the pain is due to an ovarian cyst rupture, surgical removal is necessary.
