Can inflammation cause intrauterine adhesions?
Disease description:
Preparing to get married next month, I went to the hospital today for a premarital checkup and was diagnosed with intrauterine adhesions. After searching online, I found that it might be caused by inflammation. Can inflammation lead to intrauterine adhesions?
Inflammation can lead to intrauterine adhesions. Inflammatory processes cause significant damage to the endometrium, and in severe cases, patients may develop endometrial defects, thereby increasing the risk of intrauterine adhesion formation. Increased inflammatory exudates within the uterine cavity can destroy the endometrial lining, and once damaged, the blood vessels supplying the endometrium may also fail to regenerate properly. A decreased capacity to respond to estrogen may further contribute to the development of intrauterine adhesions.
