Disease description:

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is not uncommon in daily life. This condition easily affects people like me who frequently use their shoulder joints. Maintaining the same posture for prolonged periods makes one prone to developing frozen shoulder. Then, how long does it take to treat traumatic frozen shoulder?

Traumatic periarthritis of the shoulder usually requires about 6 to 8 weeks of treatment for complete recovery. In general, patients with traumatic periarthritis should first immobilize the shoulder joint and undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess whether there is ligament tear or rupture. The main site affected in traumatic periarthritis is the shoulder joint. If treatment is not timely and thorough after injury, the injured ligaments and joint capsule may later develop contractures and adhesions, resulting in significant pain and tenderness around the shoulder joint, along with limited shoulder elevation.
