Children's tic disorders may improve. In such cases, the type of childhood tic disorder is classified as transient tics. After psychological and behavioral therapy, most tic symptoms, such as involuntary eye blinking and mouth twitching, will gradually disappear within three months of onset. However, there are also more severe cases. At this point, the childhood tic disorder is categorized as multiple tics, involving not only blinking and motor tics but also vocal tics such as throat clearing and uttering inappropriate words, and may even be accompanied by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
