What should I do if my baby has constipation after drinking formula milk?

Disease description:

Our baby is just two months old and has been primarily breastfed. Recently, due to my own health issues, I switched the baby to formula feeding. Since then, the baby hasn't had a bowel movement for four or five days, and I'm not sure what to do. What should I do if a formula-fed baby becomes constipated?

Children who drink formula milk often tend to suffer from constipation. In such cases, the formula can be diluted slightly. If there is concern that the child may not feel full, increase the frequency of breastfeeding or add some fruit juice and vegetable juice to the formula. As part of daily care, gently massage the child's abdomen in a clockwise direction, give them some room-temperature apple juice, or prepare a decoction of rock sugar, pear, and white radish. Taking probiotics for a period of time—such as bifidobacterium triple live bacteria or quadruple live bacteria preparations—may also help. If constipation began after introducing formula milk, it is still likely caused by the formula.
