Dr. Wang Qiuyue
When a baby accumulates food, it may lead to constipation. This is because the baby's gastrointestinal function becomes disrupted after food accumulation, potentially causing symptoms such as constipation, sour-smelling stools, and diarrhea. However, in clinical practice, many factors can cause constipation in babies. Besides food accumulation, insufficient water intake can result in intestinal dehydration and subsequently lead to constipation. Additionally, consuming spicy foods that cause internal heat ("fire") in babies may also contribute to constipation. When a baby shows signs of constipation, it is best to seek timely medical evaluation and treatment.
