Is it normal to have no abdominal pain or bleeding after a uterine evacuation?
Disease description:
I had a dilation and curettage (D&C) last week, and since then there has been no bleeding or pain. I would like to ask, is it normal not to have abdominal pain or bleeding after a D&C?
It is normal to have no abdominal pain or bleeding after a uterine evacuation. If there is no bleeding, it usually indicates good uterine contraction. Light bleeding within 10 days after the procedure is considered normal; however, any re-bleeding after 10 days or heavy bleeding within 10 days should be regarded as abnormal. To confirm whether any pregnancy tissue remains, an ultrasound examination should be performed promptly. If residual pregnancy tissue is found, further evacuation or medical treatment may be necessary.
