Syphilis rash can be eliminated. Usually, with active treatment, symptoms will spontaneously subside within about 1 to 3 months. However, symptom resolution does not necessarily indicate complete cure of the disease. Because syphilis is contagious and relatively difficult to treat, patients are advised to avoid sexual activity during treatment.
