Can people with cerebral infarction take hot spring baths?
Disease description:
My grandmother has a mild cerebral infarction. I've been thinking about taking her to enjoy a hot spring recently. May I ask, is it safe for someone with cerebral infarction to soak in hot springs?
If cerebral infarction is well controlled, patients may appropriately take hot spring baths. However, they should pay attention to the water temperature, which should not be too high, and the duration should not be too long, as otherwise the condition could worsen. During the bath, patients should closely monitor their physical condition and avoid excessive cold or heat stimulation, which could easily cause local blood vessel dilation or spasm, leading to insufficient blood supply to brain tissue and resulting in symptoms of ischemia and hypoxia. Additionally, patients should not bathe alone in hot springs to prevent accidents that might affect disease management.
