What are the different types of phobias?
Disease description:
My younger sister is extremely afraid of meeting strangers; she runs away whenever she sees one. People say this is a phobia. What are the different types of phobias?
Phobias can be divided into social phobia, agoraphobia, and specific phobia. Among these, social phobia is more common; such patients have no abnormal reactions when interacting with familiar people, but experience fear when encountering strangers. Agoraphobia, also known as fear of open spaces, mainly involves intense fear in certain open or crowded environments. Specific phobia refers to fear triggered by a few particular objects.
