Severe altitude sickness can cause significant damage to the body; patients should promptly go to the hospital for routine blood tests, electrocardiograms (ECG), head CT scans, and other examinations. After clarifying the specific condition, oxygen therapy should be administered. If available, treatment in an open-type hyperbaric oxygen chamber may also be considered.
