How to treat cervical Nabothian cysts
Disease description:
Nabothian cyst of the cervix was found during examination; today's physical checkup revealed that the cyst has slightly increased in size. What treatment options are available?
Nabothian cysts of the cervix, also known as cervical glandular cysts, can be managed through physical therapy, medication, or surgical treatment to alleviate symptoms. For patients who do not respond to repeated drug treatments or experience contact bleeding of the cervix, physical therapies such as laser, cryotherapy, or microwave therapy may be recommended under medical supervision to improve symptoms. Prior to obtaining pathogen test results, it is advisable to use antibiotics such as azithromycin or doxycycline under a doctor's guidance. Once pathogen testing is completed, if the infection is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, antibiotics such as clarithromycin or ofloxacin should be used according to medical advice. If the condition is due to Neisseria gonorrhoeae, medications such as cefixime or ceftriaxone sodium are recommended under medical supervision. In cases of large cysts or severe symptoms, surgical interventions such as hysterectomy or cervical gland cyst marsupialization may be advised under a physician's guidance.
