Urinary catheterization or ultrasound should be performed promptly after voiding to measure the residual urine volume in the bladder. When the residual urine volume is less than 5 ml, treatment should be coordinated according to the therapeutic plan, with symptomatic management based on etiological diagnosis. Patients are advised to drink plenty of water daily to flush the urinary tract, which helps facilitate the elimination of prostatic secretions.
