Hello,
After undergoing spinal anesthesia in the orthopedic department, the patient should first receive oxygen therapy, and vital signs must be closely monitored. Any blood pressure fluctuations should be promptly addressed. Upon returning to the ward, the patient should be placed in an appropriate position—typically supine without a pillow for 6 hours—to help reduce the risk of post-spinal anesthesia headache and blood pressure fluctuations. Due to transient dysregulation of central thermoregulation following anesthesia, patients may experience hypothermia or chills after surgery; therefore, warming measures should be provided.
