Dr. Cui Xin
After wearing glasses for hyperopia, if esotropia occurs, the patient should wear their hyperopic glasses when visiting the doctor and be re-evaluated after six months. If improvement is observed, no treatment may be necessary; however, if the condition worsens, surgery might be required. Of course, there are exceptions such as inverse astigmatism. In contrast, nearsighted children may experience relaxation of accommodation along with auxiliary relaxation. It's important to protect the eyes in daily life—avoid staring at one spot for too long—and perform appropriate eye exercises for eye health.
