Red eye disease generally requires treatment with antibiotic eye drops. Two different types of eye drops can be selected and used alternately; if the effect is unsatisfactory, switch to another type. It is also important to maintain hand and eye hygiene—avoid rubbing the eyes with dirty hands to prevent infection. In addition, personal items used by the patient, such as towels, basins, and eyeglasses, should be kept separate from those of others and regularly disinfected.
